Happy Wednesday! Today is a great day because when I woke up it was 45 degrees – brr! It’s definitely Fall. The chill in the air really has me in the mood to participate in Lindsey’sBlogger Stylin’ Home Tours series today!
This tour is packed with inspiration and talent so be sure to visit each stop on the tour by starting from the beginning at The White Buffalo Styling Co. If you are joining me from Tania’s tour at Run to Radiance, thanks for hopping over!
Today I will be sharing our Fall porch, entry, kitchen eating area and family room. This year I have a more subtle approach to Fall decorating, using color and texture to create a cozy feeling. I also tried to work with items I already owned although I did buy a few extras as well as pumpkins and mums.
Let’s start with the porch.
For me, mums and pumpkins are required Fall porch decor. This year I chose mums in magenta tones and green hued cinderella pumpkins. I how they play with the color of our Napoleonic Blue door and herringbone rug.
Our “wreath” this year is a vintage Syroco sunburst clock that I found while thrifting. The clock no longer worked so I removed it and attached picture hanging wire to the back to hang it on the door.
Under the front windows there is a rustic bench I purchased at Lucketts Spring Market a few years ago. I dressed it up with pillows and a wool throw for a cozy feel. I also picked up the tropical plant on clearance at Home Depot. I was unable to resist it’s gorgeous Fall color but it’s totally impractical since it’s not for temperatures below 60 degrees…oops!
Let’s move inside to our entry. There isn’t a perfect spot in the entry for a typical foyer table and a “drop zone” but there’s just enough space to tuck a tall chest of drawers. I thank the heavens every winter for that extra hat-mitten-scarf storage!
To get ready for Fall, I added an amber glass candle, a white pumpkin and a branch to the tray that normally sits atop this chest. The trees in my yard have not started to change yet but luckily I have a red maple that I can snip a few sprigs from!
I couldn’t resist tucking my fav Fall boots into the shot as well!
Moving down the hall, our kitchen shelves and table are all set for the season. I even managed a tables scape!
I enjoy changing up the shelves seasonally. On the buffet hat’s a big ‘ole crook neck pumpkin our landlord at Sweet Clover grew!
More leaves from the red maple. I love the little red “helicopters” still attached to the branches.
I’m planning to paint the antique farm table base black and refinish the top one day. The tabouret chairs and flat weave Persian rug are Craigslist scores.
The place settings are completely thrifted – those cane patterned plates are called “Independence Ironstone”. I found the gold toned bamboo silverware at the flea with Cassie. Gold, blue and brown says Fall to me for sure.
Last stop on the tour is our family room where we spend a lot of our time together. It’s gone through quite a change since I shared my Spring decorating post. Gone are the neutral tones and textures, replaced by warm reds and golds. The transformation was kicked off unexpectedly when I purchased the vintage brass coffee table from Craigslist. That led to replacing the jute rug with the dining room oriental rug. Funny how these things happen! #bloggerproblems
I splurged a bit on the cow hide throw and a pair of red velvet pillows.
The sweet bamboo table got a coat of red paint to help tie in the red in the rug.
Last but not least the mantel. I went with a bit of a boho vibe. The vintage inspired wall hanging was arm knitted by me and I will share a tutorial soon.
My Father-in-law painted the vibrant flowers on a black background. It’s my absolute favorite!
Thank you so much for joining me for my Fall Blogger Stylin’ Home Tour. I hope you enjoyed it! Please continue on the tour and click over to my bestie and business partner, Cassie of Primitive and Proper. I know she will wow you!
