Quick question…what’s this?
Well that’s a decorator table with a wrinkled tablecloth you might say. But you would be wrong, my friend! It’s the embodiment of my hopes, my dreams…my evil plan to get a Ballard Designs inspired living room of my very own – for just the cost of paint and lumber. Under that “decorator table” you will find this.
The who-has-money-after-buying-a-new-house-ugly-hand me down side table
I am really not digging this table’s hexagonal shape or funky doors (and I still don’t have the $$ for new furniture). So I came up with the idea of topping the pair of them with a 28″ circle made out of MDF or plywood (whichever is cheaper) to create the shape of a decorator table. This photo above is just the prototype. I topped the table with a circle made from a piece of cardboard and a tablecloth to make sure I liked how it looks. I’m hoping to work on the tables this weekend and share the reveal next week. With a little luck it will look something like this when it’s finished.
Other ideas I have in mind for the living room project include…
Giving the walls a treatment like Kelly’s bedroom at Much To Do with Nothing. Love that color (so glad she let us know the name) and the picture frame moulding!
Redoing this coffee table (the match to those side tables)…
with paint like Thrifty Decor Chick’s below.
And reupholstering (gulp!) these worn side chairs…
like this gorgeous one from Laura at Decor to Adore. I am in love with that fabric!
I’m looking forward to sharing my living room redo with you as it comes along as well as tons of other ideas I have buzzing around in my head. Thank you to all the great bloggers who inspire me everyday!!!
