Welcome to third installment of Before and After week! This post is just chockful of paint makeovers so get ready folks!
This Summer my friend Brooke and I tackled a mini-makover of her living room. Brooke was looking for a coffee table, side table and more lighting to finish the space. On a thrifting trip we found this classic drum table for less than $15.
The table was solid and just needed a little paint refresh to give it new life but I was sold when I laid eyes on my little golden friend.
While thrifting we also scored a brass lamp for the table top.
For the coffee table, Brooke decided to use a chest she had in another room of her house. The dark wood wasn’t working for her however.
Lucky for Brooke I won the Annie Sloan grand prize at Haven Conference. We had tons of paint and wax to work with!
The side table got two coats of Emporer’s Silk which is such a lovely, rich red. Next the table was distressed and waxed with ASCP dark wax.
The lion ring pull also got a makeover with a little gold rub n buff. RAWR!
Since the side table is such a bold accent piece we went more neutral on the lamp. We used ASCP Coco to bring it back to life and added a cute patterned shade from Home Goods.
We also went neutral to lighten up Brooke’s dark wood chest. We removed the handles on the faux drawers and filled them with wood putty then painted and distressed it using ASCP Old White and clear wax.
Let’s see the whole room put together shall we? Here’s the before…
And the after with all our refurbished pieces added to the mix.
Brooke is an amazing friend who has been so supportive of my business and blog. I’m so happy that I could help her get the living room she wanted for less!
